Harmonious survey distribution

The UMass Chinese Mental Health Program invites you to participate in a series of short research surveys. The goals of our program are to understand how individuals of Chinese heritage in Massachusetts feel about the concept of mental health, facilitate discussions about mental health within families, and improve the health and well-being of our communities by sharing local resources.

Participants will be asked to take a short 15-minute survey. If you choose to leave an email, you will be entered into a raffle for a Zojirushi Micom rice cooker valued at $150! We will also be adding four additional $50 gift cards to the raffle pool for every 50 participants to increase the chances of winning a prize, up to a total of twenty giftcards. If you are chosen as the winner, we will email you. From now until Summer 2021, we will be distributing four short surveys (once every three months), and each survey comes with the same rice cooker or gift card raffle. Participants who take at least three surveys and record their emails will be rewarded with entry into a separate raffle for ten chances to win an additional $50 e-gift card. Please make sure to leave the same email each time so we can keep track!

Negative attitudes were exacerbated by former President Donald Trump, who blamed the outbreak on China and referred to it as the “kung flu” or the “Chinese virus.” AAPI Data and Momentive, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Center for Public Integrity reported anti-Asian violence and racism dramatically spiked in the past […]

Hundreds Continue to Die: Human Trafficking and the Adriana Boat Tragedy

On June 14th, 2023, a fishing boat, the Adriana, sank off the coast of Greece. However, this boat held far more than just a few fishermen. It is estimated that 750 people were aboard the vessel before its demise, one still yet to be solved. That being said, there are at least two things we know for sure. Hundreds have died, and hundreds are still missing. In its totality, though, this was not a well-documented voyage. In fact, a lack […]
