Experience Chinatown – discovery through the arts

Experience Chinatown is a community display of murals, art installations, music and performances to engage the residents and visitors of Chinatown. Held by the Pao Arts Center, Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center (BCNC) and Bunker Hill Community College, local artists are bringing their passions to the public for a unique cultural engagement event.

Around the neighborhood, window paintings can be spotted in various restaurants, each with unique styles and approaches to Chinese culture. They amplify the excitement of the area, and provide a wonderful touring trail to follow for those seeking them out. Each display has the artists’ social media handle added, so they can be found and followed even after the event ends.

Experience Chinatown 2021 is being held September 9 – September 25, so there are still a few days to go out and enjoy the creativity of our friends and neighbors. An interactive map of the locations can be found on the Pao Arts Center website.
