Last week, Mayor Gary Christenson attended the Malden High School Adventures & Academics Program (MAAP) Presentation and at the conclusion of the program, Director Pat Laidley shared some distressing news with the Mayor. One of her students, Deyshawn Boucicault, who is entering 9th grade in September, had his bike stolen the day before and Pat wondered if the Mayor knew of any way to help Deyshawn get a second-hand bike.
The Mayor invited Deyshawn to his office under the pretense of discussing the MAAP Program and surprised him with the brand new bike!
Mayor Gary Christenson welcomed Malden High School’s Asian American Civic Association Youth Council students and their award winning exhibit of photographs. The art will be on display in the 6th Floor Lobby of City Hall (right outside of the Mayor’s Office) through August 6th.
More than 150 Chinese residents of Malden attended the city’s monthly safety meeting for Asian residents on July 15 at the Malden Senior Center. Malden Mayor Gary Christenson attended the meeting along with city representatives from the fire and police departments.
