New Irish Famine Atlas includes voyage by Captain Robert Bennet Forbes

The 1847 humanitarian voyage of Captain Robert Bennet Forbes to County Cork, Ireland, is included in the new Atlas of the Great Irish Famine published by the Cork University Press in Ireland.

Captain Forbes and his brother, John Murray Forbes, China Trade merchants living in Milton, Massachusetts, took the lead in an effort to transport tons of food and provisions from Boston to Cove, County Cork, Ireland at the height of the Great Famine.

Josiah Quincy Elementary School Year of the Dragon Celebrations

On January 27, in an elaborately decorated gym, Josiah Quincy Elementary School students performed skits, dances, and songs in celebration of Chinese New Year and the Year of the Dragon for teachers, parents and local government officials.
