City of Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino made an appearance in Chinatown on April 23 at the Metropolitan Community Room, on Oak Street, to kick-start the Office of New Bostonians’ new “You Have Rights” education campaign, aimed at providing information to residents about their rights to decent housing and reporting substandard conditions.

There is still time to file your taxes! This year Massachusetts leaders and activists want to make sure all eligible persons apply for EITC when they file their 2011 tax returns. In the 2010 tax year, Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) prepared almost 4,000 tax returns, returning more than $6.4 million to Boston’s low-income working families and individuals.
