The Massachusetts Asian American Commission held their sixth joint dinner at Boston University’s Metcalf Hall on May 16. Over three hundred people from all works of life dressed up to attend the event.
Focal Chinese Music To Re-Open Melrose’s 116-year-old Corinthian Hall
Starting June 10, 2012, Focal Chinese Music Corp. (FCM), a music education and performing arts company will re-open and manage Melrose’s 116-year-old Corinthian Hall. Currently owned by Melrosian Stephen Longmuir, Corinthian Hall, with its 1900s interior preserved and restored, will serve as FCM’s headquarters.
Madeline Wong Throws First Pitch at Boston Red Sox Game
A respected leader among Chinese Americans and women, Madeline C. Wong’s accomplishments include the founding of one of America’s largest and oldest Asian dining meccas, her work in the insurance field, and her many contributions to the community and charity work. And all of her accomplishments were celebrated on April 17, when Wong was given the opportunity to throw the first pitch at a Boston Red Sox baseball game, a feat very few people have the chance to perform in their lifetimes.
