Chinese Historical Society of New England celebrates

BY ARICK WONG Founded in 1992, the Chinese Historical Society of New England (CHSNE) gathered on Sept. 24 for its 22nd annual meeting and dinner at the China Pearl. AACA gala celebrates 46 years of success

The Asian American Civic Association gala took place aboard the Odyssey Cruise Ship on June 7. Despite torrential rain from Tropical Storm Andrea, 95 percent of the guests attended the gala to raise $260,000 for the agency’s language and job-training programs. Continue reading

ABCD celebrates 50 years of success

The Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) 50th Anniversary Gala took place at the Boston Marriott Copley Place on Nov. 2. More than 1,200 supporters turned out for a night of live jazz.

Legendary six-time Grammy award winner Natalie Cole delivered a fabulous performance at the gala. Her heartwarming melodies included “Unforgettable,” “Autumn Leaves” and other stirring favorites. Continue reading
