The third “Short Waves: Stories Shaping Our Community” screening of short films took place May 30 at the Castle Square Tenants Organization, 464 Tremont Street. A total of 15 films were screened to celebrate Asian American Heritage Month in May.

MIT Chinese Choral Society is going to hold a winter concert at the MIT Little Theater, and the theme of the concert will be “when Mozart meets Hsu Chih-Mo.” Yu-Fen Yan, doctorate in choral conducting at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will be the conductor. Yi-Ying Lin, doctoral student at Boston University will be accompanying the chorus. The concert is free to the public. MIT Chinese Choral Society is now recruiting for the 2013 performances. Free Film, Food & Discussion at South End’s Castle Square Community Center

On Friday, December 7th, from 7-9 PM at the Castle Square Community Center, the documentary “Vincent Who?” will be screened, focusing on the 1982 hate crime murder of Vincent Chin and the Asian American experience in political activism. The film won the 2009 Media Award from the National Association for Multicultural Education. Continue reading
