Fitchburg Mayor Lisa Wong spoke at a “Community Conversations” forum hosted by Gov. Deval Patrick’s Asian American Commission on Sept. 19 at the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center.
The governor’s Asian American Commission and the Chinatown Resident Association welcomed three more mayoral candidates on July 31 and August 7 at the Josiah Quincy School. Seven of the 12 mayoral candidates have met with residents through the Chinatown forums so far, with an eighth candidate scheduled.

The Asian American Commission hosted its seventh annual Unity Dinner at the George Sherman Union at Boston University on May 14. This year’s dinner highlighted health care organizations and leaders that have made significant contributions in the Asian American communities in the greater Boston area.
The Asian American Commission had a ceremony on Jan. 24 to welcome six new commissioners.
Civil rights leader Martin Luther King was honored with poems, dances and live music at the 26th memorial luncheon Jan. 11 at the Massachusetts Statehouse.
