Over 70 Boston Renaissance Charter Public School (BRCPS) sixth graders participated in the Thermo Fisher Scientific STEM Challenge at TFS’ world headquarters in Waltham. Students worked in teams to solve a challenge, demonstrating their ability to apply the scientific method and engineering skills learned in the classroom.  TFS has been working with BRCPS for three years, bringing STEM kits and materials to the school and working with sixth grade teachers to support hands-on STEM-based learning. US Congresswoman Katherine Clark paid the students a surprise visit, listening to their presentations and interacting with them throughout the event.
