Chinatown crime for July 22 to August 4

All reports are submitted by the Boston Police Department. The time period is from July 22 to August 4 for District A-1, which includes Chinatown.

Breaking and entering

July 21, 4 p.m.: The victim reports unknown person broke into the building on Washington Street and removed a large sum of money from the safe.


Assault and battery on an elderly person

July 22, 1:51 p.m.: The suspect was arrested on Washington Street for punching an elderly man in the face for no apparent reason. The victim transported to hospital via ambulance.



July 23, 10:41 p.m.: The victim reports unknown person vandalized her car that was parked and locked on Hudson Street.



July 24, 12:04 a.m.: The victim reports the two suspects walked out of the restaurant on Harrison Avenue without paying their bill. The officers informed victim they would make out a report.



July 25, 6:32 p.m.: The four suspects were placed under arrest for trespassing on Boylston Street. They were in an area where a No Trespassing sign was clearly posted.


Death investigation

July 30, 10:17 a.m.: The victim was discovered outside the restroom of the hospital located on Washington without any vital signs. The victim transported to the medical examiner’s office and the incident to be further investigated.


Breaking and entering motor vehicle

July 31, 8:13 a.m.: The suspect was arrested on Hudson Street for breaking into a motor vehicle.


Liquor law violation

August 2, 12:06 a.m.: The suspect was arrested on Tyler Street for possession of alcohol beverage by person under 21.


Assault and battery with deadly weapon

August 2, 10 a.m.: The suspect reports while in front of CVS on Washington he was stabbed by a male known to him as Stewart. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.


Unarmed robbery

August 2, 11:06 a.m.: The victim reported while walking on Harrison Avenue an unknown male grabbed the cell phone from her hand and fled onto Kneeland Street. The victim gave chase to the suspect. While chasing the suspect across the street, she was struck by a motor vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment. The suspect made good on his escape.
