South End’s National Night Out will take place at Castle Square.

Castle Square Tenants Organization presents its 21st annual community building event, National Night Out

Boston, MA- Castle Square Tenants Organization (CSTO) is thrilled to announce that it has been chosen again by the City of Boston as the South End host site for this year’s National Night Out. “National Night Out is one of CSTO’s largest annual events, and we look forward to this opportunity every year to celebrate and bring our friends and neighbors together,” said Casey Bell, Director of Community Programs. The event takes place on Tuesday, August 1st, 2017 from 5-8pm and will mark CSTO’s 21st year participating. As always, National Night Out is open to the public.

National Night Out is an annual event that started in 1984 as an initiative to bolster community- police partnerships and encourage neighborhood camaraderie. CSTO hosts National Night Out onsite at Village Court located in Castle Square Apartments. The event features live entertainment, information tables, cook-out, inflatables and activities for people of all ages. Mayor Marty Walsh attended CSTO’s 2015 and 2016 events, when CSTO was honored with the Community Service Award, presented by Police Commissioner William B. Evans.

The Castle Square Tenants Organization (CSTO) has been at the forefront of tenants’ advocacy, affordable housing preservation, and an active partner in the South End for 29 years. CSTO firmly believes that working collaboratively builds vibrant and safe communities. Last fall, the CSTO board and residents redefined CSTO’s mission statement to include housing preservation, and community and economic development in the greater Boston area- CSTO invites you to attend this lively event to not only join in on celebrating the South End neighborhood, but to also learn more about CSTO’s exciting future.
