Many local residents headed towards Boston Common April 30 to enjoy Japanese cuisine, arts and music at the 6th annual Japan Festival. The Festival featured interactive workshops that promoted traditional Japanese arts such as lessons on calligraphy, tea ceremony and dancing the Bon Odori. Entertainment could be found all around the festival with nonstop performances of dance, music and cosplay on two stages.
As lunchtime approached, long lines formed in front of food vendors selling yakitori, ramen and takoyaki. Families and friends set up picnics and immersed in Japanese culture at the comfort of their own local backyard in Boston.
