Together Empowering Asian Minds (TEAM) announces video open call winners

Together Empowering Asian Minds (TEAM) is pleased to announce the winners in its Video Open Call, which was part of a national campaign to raise awareness of the cultural challenges that influence how mental health is perceived in the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.

Winner in the Personal Story category:
Out of the Blues, submitted by Nikita Sampath.

Winner in the Public Service Announcement category:
Mental Wellness PSA, submitted by the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center’s Teen Resource Center.

Winner in the Video Essay category:
Tired Dragon Lady, submitted by Lily Luo.

The winners in each category will receive:

TEAM thanks all of the Open Call participants and encourages continued sharing of all the videos to promote discussion of AAPI mental health issues.


TEAM is a peer-led, Massachusetts-based coalition formed in 2010 to address the urgent and unique mental health challenges faced by the AAPI community and their loved ones. TEAM received a grant from the hope & grace fund, a project of New Venture Fund in partnership with philosophy, inc. Saheli, The Transformation Center, and Asian Women for Health are the lead agencies spearheading the TEAM campaign. A full list of partnering organization can be found here.
