By the Office of Boston City Council President Bill Linehan
This year’s Greenway Gala was on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 which took place under a tent on the beautiful Rose F. Kennedy Greenway at the Rings Fountain between State and Milk Streets… this years attendees included Mayor Walsh, Representative Michlewitz, the new Greenway Executive Director Jesse Brackenberry, and several hundred supporters of the Greenway. All enjoyed an evening under the stars celebrating Boston’s premier public park.
Also in attendance were long-time and on-going supporters of the Greenway from Chinatown … representing Tufts Medical Center; Sherry Dong, and from Gee How Oak Tin Association of New England: Uncle Frank Chin, Man Ho & Paula Chan, and James Chan (also a member of the Greenway Board of Directors and Neighborhood Liaison for Boston City Council President Bill Linehan).
Several years ago both Tufts Medical Center and Gee How Oak Tin Association of New England were instrumental in leading the efforts of raising and providing the funds needed to furnish the planters, tables, chairs and umbrellas that the neighborhood gets to enjoy at the Chinatown Park today.
