The seminar, entitled “Big Data—Big Future,” will be held in Cambridge on May 31, Saturday.

Big data is attracting attention for its tremendous potential in areas from information technology to finance and healthcare. Leland Cheung has served as Cambridge City Councillor since 2009 and has been a leader in making Cambridge more progressive, using technology to modernize government, and driving the innovation economy. Now a candidate for Lt. Governor of Massachusetts, Leland will reflect on a national trend of Open Data Ordinances and provide his insight on how government is utilizing data to deliver better services and create opportunities for civic innovation.

Dr. Yu-Feng Wei is the founder and managing partner of a stealth-mode startup that turns big data into actionable business intelligence for healthcare organizations. For more than a decade, Dr. Wei has been applying advanced analytics to solve business problems in various industries including pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and government.
