Cathay Bank Foundation Awards Grant for Chinatown Youth Program

BOSTON – On November 27, 2013, Cathay Bank Foundation awarded a $5,000 grant to the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center, Inc. (BCNC) to promote the academic performance of immigrant youth.

This grant will support BCNC’s Youth Center in areas of education, leadership, and enrichment. BCNC’s youth program includes English for Speakers of Other Language (ESOL) classes, homework help, college access support, educational and vocational counseling, and preparation classes for the standardized tests for high school graduation. The program serves over 225 youth a year.
