Award-Winning Artwork on Display at City Hall
Mayor Gary Christenson welcomed Asian American Civic Association Youth Council students, seven of whom attend Malden High School, and their award-winning exhibit of photographs. The art will be on display in the 6th Floor Lobby of City Hall (right outside of the Mayor’s Office) through August 6th.
The students participated in a project called “Capturing Community Wellness through Photo Voice” for which they won the “Families for Depression Awareness Distinguished Service in Mental Health Advocacy” Award. For this project, the students analyzed and photographed subjects that they felt represented mental wellness. The exhibit has been on display in various locations throughout the greater Boston area.
“I am not only impressed by the artistic and creative abilities of our students, but I am equally impressed with their commitment to this project,” said Mayor Christenson. “I encourage residents to stop by and view the exhibit.”
