Sampan rings in 2013
By the Editorial Team
Happy New Year! We at the Sampan are excited to usher in 2013.
Our name comes from the sampan, a humble fishing vessel. One of our first editors learned that when large ships docked, they were unable to unload goods to the harbor and relied on smaller sampans to transport cargo. Today, Sampan strives to speak for the underrepresented and drive their concerns home.
As we look forward to the Year of the Snake next month, we are proud to update our English layout for easier reading. For our website, we have revamped our homepage banner to match our print edition and added a search box to the homepage. We hope the look of Sampan makes it easy to find the content you want.
No matter how our look changes, our commitment to quality is unwavering. We continue to make the Chinatown community our primary focus, delivering organization updates and local news. We have served as the voice of Boston’s Chinatown in 1972 and maintain this proud tradition.
Thank you for letting us serve you!
