Chinatown crime blotter Jan. 4 to Jan. 17

All reports are submitted by the Boston Police Department. The time period is from Jan. 4 to Jan. 17 for District A1 or Chinatown.

  • Fire report

Jan. 4, 5:53 a.m.: The officer responded to Boylston Street on a report of a building fire. Upon arrival the officer observed steam pouring out of the building.  It appeared that the heater in the front entrance had burst due to the extreme cold weather.  The valve was turned off by the fire department.

 

  • Assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon

Jan. 5, 2:20 a.m.: The officer responded to Boylston Street on a report of an assault and battery in progress.  Upon arrival the officer met and spoke with the victims they report they were assaulted by 3 unknown males.  One of the victims went to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The incident was filmed by a passing cab driver. The incident is to be further investigated by the district detectives.

 

  • Warrant arrest

Jan. 5, 6:18 a.m.: The suspect was arrested on Washington Street on an outstanding warrant issued out of Lawrence district court.

 

  • Warrant arrest

Jan. 5, 11:20 a.m.: The suspect was arrested on Harrison Avenue on an outstanding warrant issued out of Worcester district court.

 

  • Fraud

Jan. 14, 2:15 a.m.: The officer while performing a paid detail on LaGrange Street was notified by the staff that the suspect refused to pay his bill of $700.  The officer spoke with the suspect and asked him to pay the bill.  The suspect once again refused to pay his bill.  He was placed under arrest and transported to district.

 

  • Armed robbery

Jan. 16, 5:07 a.m.: The two victims report while walking on Boylston Street they observed two black males following them.  They stated when they reached the apartment one of the suspects walked up to them and demanded their wallets and stated that he had a gun. The suspect took the victims’ wallets and fled in the area of Chinatown.  The officers drove both victims around looking for suspects without any results.

 

  • Armed robbery

Jan. 16, 11:54 a.m.: The officer responded to Beach Street on a report of a past robbery.  Upon arrival the officer met and spoke with the victim. She stated that on Jan. 13, she heard a loud bang on the front door.  She opened the door and an unknown Asian male wearing a ski mask pulled out a long barreled revolver and demanded cash.  The suspect fled with cash.  The incident to be further investigated by District A-1 detectives.
