ABCD celebrates 50 years of success

The Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) 50th Anniversary Gala took place at the Boston Marriott Copley Place on Nov. 2. More than 1,200 supporters turned out for a night of live jazz.

Legendary six-time Grammy award winner Natalie Cole delivered a fabulous performance at the gala. Her heartwarming melodies included “Unforgettable,” “Autumn Leaves” and other stirring favorites.

Bianca de la Garza, anchor for NewsCenter 5’s EyeOpener newscast, emceed the event. The gala celebrated ABCD’s 50 years of providing pathways out of poverty.

Mark Shriver, senior vice president of U.S. Programs, Save the Children, was the featured speaker of the gala.
