Doing his part to promote a healthy and active community, Mayor Gary Christenson walked the streets of Malden on last Tuesday, July 31, with residents as part of the Malden is Moving initiative, an effort coordinated through the Board of Health and the YWCA.
The group started out at City Hall Plaza and will walk a different route every other Tuesday.
“I love getting outside during the day to interact with residents,” said Mayor Christenson, “and I can’t think of a better way to enjoy the City.”
The next Walk and Talk with the Mayor will be Tuesday, August 14th at 12:00 Noon.
The activity is part of the Malden is Moving initiative, the Malden version of the Mass in Motion program supported by a five-year $300,000 Community Transformation Grant from the Department of Public Health. Christopher Webb, Director of Public Health, is working on this initiative in conjunction with the YWCA Malden.
